SnapDragon provides an affordable, results-oriented approach, allowing businesses to exert control over their intellectual property (IP).  Our multi-lingual team uses our software to monitor, report and remove infringing goods from the world’s busiest online marketplaces, auction sites and social media sites protecting our clients’ brands, revenue and, most importantly, their customers. Our software is also available to brands and law firms in a self-service capacity.

Lead Developer

We are hiring a Full-Stack Senior Developer to join our growing and innovative Product team. Working within an agile environment, you will lead our in-house development team and work closely with our UK-based, external development team to develop our proprietary brand management software. Your duties will include designing, building and maintaining our AWS system architecture, developing our core product and providing our developers and testers with the tools they need. You will also assist the CTO with roadmap design, and you will participate in daily stand-up meetings, regular sprint planning and retrospectives.

This position would suit somebody looking for their first leadership role, to develop skills in AWS, machine learning and SaaS platform architecture, and to have a direct impact on the future of a growing tech company.

About You:

  • You have 5+ years in full-stack development;
  • You have some experience working with AWS;
  • You have some experience working with Terraform;
  • You have experience with Python and/or React;
  • You have a good understanding of agile methodologies;
  • You have experience working within a CI/CD environment;
  • You can communicate in a clear and concise manner;
  • You have skills in collaborating with colleagues, sharing knowledge and demonstrating the validity of your ideas;
  • You have a desire to lead a team.

Chair of The Board

We are recruiting currently for senior expertise, notably for a Chairperson for the Board, as our current Chair steps down to concentrate on the business he co-founded.

Responsibilities

The Chair will act as an ambassador of the company’s values and will assume accountability for managing the performance of the Board.  As a non-executive Chair, you will normally be required to provide your services for approximately 2 – 3 days per month. This includes attendance at monthly board meetings.

Board Leadership:

  • Chair and oversee the performance of the Board, ensuring its effectiveness in all aspects of its role, and set a Board agenda, which is primarily focused on strategy, performance, value creation and accountability, ensuring that issues relevant to these areas are reserved for Board decision.
  • Preside over Board meetings and actively engage the Board members, encouraging them to participate and share information.
  • Ensure the Board has effective decision-making processes, is fully appraised of SnapDragon’s strategic direction and has the opportunity to debate and contribute to major opportunities.
  • Ensure that the directors receive accurate, high quality and timely information and reports to enable them to effectively monitor all aspects of SnapDragon’s business and performance.
  • Ensure that the Board consistently recognises growth in shareholder value as its fundamental objective, and the return of that value to shareholders.
  • Facilitate the effective contribution of non-executive directors and encourage open constructive communication between the non-executive directors and the leadership team.
  • Ensure, in conjunction with the CEO, that the Board determines the nature and extent of the material risks SnapDragon is willing to embrace in the implementation of its strategy.
  • Provide independent counsel and support to the CEO and act as a sounding board and mentor to the senior management team, as appropriate.
  • Maintain an open and then regular evaluation with the CEO of the performance of the Executive Directors and visibility of the 2nd tier management team and key consultants.

Stakeholder Development:

  • Ensure, in conjunction with the CEO, effective engagement with stakeholders and external networks to understand issues, bring relevant external expertise and thinking, and develop relationships to the benefit of SnapDragon.
  • Actively participate in fundraising activities, making full use of external contacts and networks.

Governance:

  • Uphold high levels of conduct, accountability and corporate governance, whilst remaining personally focused on adding value to the core ambition.
  • Promote high standards of integrity, probity, ethics, diversity and inclusion.
  • Regularly update and refresh his/her skills, knowledge and familiarity with SnapDragon’s activities and of the regulations with which the business must comply.

Knowledge, Experience & Characteristics

  • Demonstrable C-Suite experience in scaling a SaaS business
  • Extensive commercial, strategic, entrepreneurial and international experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the impact to build relationships, network appropriately, and represent SnapDragon externally
  • Flexibility, empathy, enthusiasm and optimism, with a track record of building positive working relationships in a low ego environment
  • Ability to quickly develop a strategic understanding of the business and financial challenges facing SnapDragon, with experience of fundraising and dealing with investors
  • Experience of leading others successfully through growing, scaling and exiting from a tech-orientated business
  • Demonstrate availability and able to put in the time required to carry out the role effectively
  • Experience of chairing a Board before, during and after Board meetings, serving as leader and facilitator.

Finance Director

Overview

The Finance Director will act as principal professional adviser to the Board and Leadership Team on all strategic and operational aspects of Finance. This is a part-time role (2 to 3 days/month) working closely with the CEO and COO and the existing Finance team which comprises an experienced Financial Controller and a Bookkeeper.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist the Board in creating strategic plans for the future
  • Develop and implement sound Finance strategies to support the sustainable growth of SnapDragon including grants and funding applications
  • Ensure Snapdragon meets all regulatory and statutory requirements, delivers best practice and continual improvement across Finance, Procurement, Risk and Compliance
  • Contribute to the development of financial policies, procedures, processes and systems to ensure there is a consistent and continuous improvement approach to the quality and delivery of insight and information
  • Overview of strategic risk register, robust internal and external audit programme and GDPR compliance
  • Overall responsibility for the successfully operation of the Finance Team.

Knowledge, Experience & Characteristics

  • Degree level educated and a member of a relevant professional accounting body/institute with a demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development
  • Extensive knowledge and experience at a senior level of financial and management accounting techniques and practices, regulations and reporting requirements, financial planning, monitoring & reporting and treasury management in a sizeable and complex organisation
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the impact to build relationships, network appropriately, and represent SnapDragon externally
